About

Who are we?

Arnold & Surrounding Area (ASA) Association of Neighbourhood Watches is made up of a small group of volunteers who are working to support the Neighbourhood Watch Schemes (mostly individual streets) in the Arnold and surrounding area. This includes Arnold, Killisick, Redhill, Woodthorpe, Daybrook & part of Mapperley.

We all live in the local area and are all concerned about crime in our neighbourhoods.

Our purpose is to help you to set up your own scheme for your street & to support you in being involved in a co-ordinated effort to report local crime and effect change. Your street may already be registered so we would like to help you find out, and if this is the case, to put you in contact with your scheme (street) co-ordinator.

Our hope is to build stronger communities who look out for each other and to ensure that the police are aware of local issues and to help build an overall picture of how crime is affecting Arnold and the surrounding area

Neighbourhood Watch itself is a grassroots charitable movement. It is the largest crime prevention voluntary movement in England and Wales and has upwards of 2.3 million members.

Schemes are run by volunteers across England and Wales supported by volunteer Associations, and by Neighbourhood Watch Network, the national umbrella organisation for the movement. Find out more about the national Neighbourhood Watch: www.ourwatch.org.uk

Our aim

This site aims to be a central hub where all residents and businesses can go to seek quick information about the locality including contact details for who can help out when you are in need.

In particular we are aiming to:

  • Recruit members to the Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
  • Gather and share information through the Neighbourhood Watch Scheme to better inform everyone about what is happening in their neighbourhood.
  • Increase the reporting of crime and inteligence to the Police. This will ensure that they have a better understanding of true crime patterns within the locality  and can respond more appropriately when crimes are reported.
  • Provide assistance to those thst have fallen on hard times, in need of some support. Whether you need help and guidance  on how best to tackle antisocial behaviour, or if you need information regarding the location of the nearest food bank, we want to help.
  • Give community leaders a permenant fixed place to post information about essential community activities that are taking place as well as the recruitment of volunteers.
